6 personnel from the Sheriff's Office, including full-time and auxiliary deputies responded to a call for help from law enforcement agencies in the Mayflower/Vilonia area on Sunday night.
Auxiliary Deputies Clif Sampley, Daniel Cartwright, Jerry Wofford, Teddy Dalton, Lt. Jeff Wood and 911 Director Tristan Teague responded to the area after the tornado caused widespread destruction.
The personnel left Johnson County at approximately 10:00 p.m. They were first directed to Vilonia but were re-directed to the Mayflower area.
While in Mayflower they took over patrol duties for the Mayflower P.D. while their officers rested between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
After daybreak today they were responsible for roadblocks and building searches.
The deputies will rotate and remain in the hard-hit areas until they are no longer needed.
This assistance will have no adverse effect on local law enforcement activities.
