Sheriff's Office Receives $4300.00 Equipment Grant
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has received a $4300.00 equipment grant from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant purchase and equip a Crime Scene Response Trailer.
This grant is administered by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration and was received in December, 2013.
The grant was used to purchase an enclosed 14' tandem-axle trailer, shelving items and crime scene investigation tools.
As monies become available the trailer will be lettered, equipped with a generator, portable lighting, tables, chairs and all other equipment necessary to work any type of crime scene in Johnson County.
It's important when working a crime scene to have the necessary equipment on-hand and available so a deputy or criminal investigator does not have to leave a scene to pick up other equipment.
This Crime Scene Response Trailer will allow us to keep all of the necessary items in one place and will give personnel a dry place to process evidence.
In the spirit of cooperation between agencies, the Crime Scene Response Trailer will be available to any law enforcement agency in the county who requests it.
