A 47 year-old resident of Batson Mountain was arrested on Thursday, October 11 following an investigation of an incident at his residence on County Road 4021.
A caller notified the Sheriff's Office that as they drove by the residence they thought a man at the residence had shot at another person in the yard.
Detective Jeff Wood and Lt. Eddie Richards went to the residence to investigate the call. They made contact with the homeowner, Richard Harold Richardson and determined that Mr. Richardson had been firing a gun but not at anyone.
A check revealed that Richardson had a previous felony conviction. He was arrested for Possession of a Firearm By Certain Persons.
Richardson appeared before Circuit Judge Bill Pearson who set his bond at $2500.00 cash/commercial with a November 2 court date.
