A benefit poker run sponsored by the Sheriff's Office on Saturday, June 13 raised $500.00 for the Christmas Angels Project headed by the University of the Ozarks Women.  There were 32 motorcycles with a total of 38 participants.  The ride took approximately 5 hours and covered 143 miles through Johnson, Pope and Newton counties.  The participants were treated to a barbecue chicken dinner upon completion of the ride and a total of 22 door prizes donated by local merchants were given out.
