Seth Chowning, age 28 of Knoxville was arrested by Detective Jeff Wood on Wednesday, April 7 on a misdemeanor warrant and felony drug charges. Detective Wood was searching for Chowning to interview him about stolen property and discovered him at a residence on Highway 103. Wood arrested Chowning on misdemeanor warrant for Failure to Pay Fines and Domestic Battery. When they arrived at the detention center and Chowning was being processed in a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and a syringe was discovered on his person. Chowning is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), Possession of an Instrument of Crime and Introducing Contraband Into a Detention Facility. Chowning appeared before Circuit Judge Bill Pearson on Friday, April 9 where his bond was set at $5000.00 cash/commercial with a court date of May 7 in Johnson County Circuit Court.
