2 churches and 1 business were burglarized during the overnight hours on Wednesday, October 21. The Crossroads Assembly of God church at Highway 352 and Woodland road was entered by unknown persons who kicked and pried the front door in. A small amount of money was taken from the fellowship hall along with 2 cases of soda. Approximately 1 mile north on Woodland Road a fiberglass business was burglarized when unknown persons pried the hasp from the front door. A welder, welding leads, leather gloves, tool-box and tools were taken. A second church, Mount Vernon Community Church was burglarized the same night when unknown persons kicked the rear door in. Entry was gained into the office where approximately $45.00 in change was taken as well as approximately $45.00 from an offering plate. Damage to the doors were estimated to be $400.00.
