On Saturday, October 11, 2008 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Police Chief David Pilkington responded to a call of a disturbance at the Coal Hill VFW.  Upon his arrival he made contact with the suspect, who was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot.  An incident then occurred near the suspect's vehicle in which Chief Pilkington drew his service weapon and fired several shots at the suspect, hitting him twice.  The Arkansas State Police is investigating this incident and any questions should be directed to their headquarters in Little Rock.
