The New Year - Message from the Sheriff

As 2016 ends and we look forward to 2017, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes for a safe and prosperous New Year. We look forward to helping make 2017 a wonderful and safe year for our county and our community.

Our deputies, investigators, office staff, detention officers and dispatchers work tirelessly to provide the best possible service to our citizens. In 2016 we saw the completion of the new wing of the detention center and plan on opening this sometime early in 2017. Calls for service continue to increase and we try our best to answer each of these in a timely manner. We understand that your call is of the utmost importance to you, and we want to give each one the attention that it deserves.  

As we approach 2017 and I begin my second term as your Sheriff, my commitment to the citizens of Johnson County remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for the current and future residents of our wonderful home. It is my hope that 2017 will be a year when members in our community more often extend a helping hand to their neighbors, coworkers, family, friends, and strangers in need.

It's a real pleasure to say "thank you" to our community as we wish you a year full of happiness and success.
