2 sisters charged with felony animal cruelty charges after a search warrant was issued at their residence near Lamar in October, 2009 were arrested on new charges after they walked into the Johnson County Courthouse on Tuesday, April 6 carrying a puppy. Part of the conditions of their original bond is that neither of them be in possession of any animal. Courthouse employees notified law enforcement and the prosecutor's office that Lynn Burkett, age 51 and Christine Yarrington, age 60 of London had the puppy in their possession inside the courthouse. A warrant for Violation of Conditions of Bond was issued against both and they were arrested at their residence near London on Saturday, April 10. Pope County deputies noticed several dogs on the property and inside the residence when the two were arrested. Both appeared before Circuit Judge Bill Pearson on Monday, April 12 where their bonds were set at $5000.00 cash only with a May 7 court date.
