On 08/10/16 at 6:41 pm our department responded to a report of a body found in a swimming area located at Horse Head Lake. Deputies arrived and located the body of a 42 year old female who had been found by kayaker’s in the area. The kayaker’s called 911 and began CPR on the victim which was taken over by first responders and EMT’s upon their arrival. After CPR efforts were unsuccessful, the Johnson County Coroner was notified. This is an active death investigation and further details will be released as soon as possible. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of family members.
