1/4 Pound of Methamphetamine Seized During Traffic Stop

Johnson County Deputies seized approximately 114 grams, or just over 1/4 pound of methamphetamine (ice) during a traffic stop on I-40 at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6.

Corporal Todd Russell and Detective Jacob Shook stopped a vehicle driven by Christopher Holt, age 34 of Searcy traveling west-bound near the 57 mile-marker for a traffic violation.

Upon speaking with the driver, Russell and Shook obtained permission to search the vehicle.

Egan, The Johnson County Sheriff's Office K-9 alerted on two separate areas in the vehicle, the console and an un-wired speaker box in the back seat.  The back seat contained several un-wired speaker boxes.

A search of the speaker box revealed a large bag containing approximately 112 grams of methamphetamine, a small baggie containing approximately 2.3 grams of methamphetamine and an empty plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Other items, including syringes, marijuana and other items of paraphernalia were also discovered in the console and a purse in the vehicle.

Christopher Holt and his wife, Danna Holt, of Searcy were arrested and transported to the Johnson County Detention Center.

Christopher Holt is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent To Deliver, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, No Proof Of Insurance, Driving On Shoulder and Possession Of A Controlled Substance.

Danna Holt is charged with Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The value of the suspected methamphetamine is between $10,000 and $12,000.

Along with Corporal Russell and Detective Shook, Deputies Aaron Einert and Larry Boggs as well as Auxiliary Deputy Lynda George and Patrolman T.K. Clubb of the Lamar P.D. assisted in the investigation
