Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest On Drug/Gun Charges

A traffic stop on County Road 2301 led to the arrest of a Clarksville resident on drug and weapons charges.

On Tuesday, May 15 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Cpl. Glenda Morrison stopped a vehicle on County Road 2301 for a traffic violation.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Cpl. Morrison noticed a rifle laying in the passenger seat of the car.  A check on the driver, Tracey Dougan, age 45, revealed that she had a previous felony conviction.

Deputy Todd Russell arrived on the scene, secured the rifle and Dougan was placed under arrest.

During an inventory of the vehicle, a syringe containing suspected methamphetamine was discovered in a bag in the vehicle.  While being booked in at the Johnson County Detention Center, pills were also discovered on Dougan's person.

Dougan is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Prescription Drug w/o a Prescription, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of a Firearm By Certain Persons (Felon In Possession), Driving Left Of Center and No Seat Belt.
