Search Warrant Served; Two Arrested On Drug Charges

Two Johnson County residents were arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was executed at their residence on Private Road 2223 between Clarksville and Hartman on Monday, February 6.

Arrested were Carl Gene Powell, age 29 and Kristin Powell, age 28.

Deputies were called to the residence the night of February 5 after the Powell's reported someone broke into their residence with weapons and robbed them of money.

As Deputies were processing the scene they noticed what appeared to be a large amount of paraphernalia and suspected marijuana in the residence.

The residence was secured and a search warrant was written for the items.

Upon serving the search warrant, Deputies and Detectives discovered scales, baggies, pipes and approximately 2.5 pounds of suspected marijuana in the residence.

Carl and Kristin Powell were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) With Intent To Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of A Minor.

Both appeared before Circuit Judge Bill Pearson on Monday, February 6 where their bonds were set at $10,000.00 cash/commercial with a court date of March 2nd in Johnson County Circuit Court. Both were appointed the public defender to represent them.

Participating in the investigation was Deputy Lance Clubb, Detective Chad Morrow, Deputy Jacob Shook, Deputy Tyler Holt and Detective Jeff Wood.
