Resident Arrested on Drug Charges, Search Warrant Executed on Residence

John Lemon, age 43 of Clarksville was arrested on drug charges at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 3rd following a traffic stop on Ray Road by Deputies Todd Russell and Jonathan Fetters.  Lemon had an outstanding warrant for Nonpayment of Child Support.  During the inventory of his vehicle, deputies discovered a white, powder substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.  The discovery of the methamphetamine led to the issuance of a search warrant for Mr. Lemon's residence at 1203 West Cherry Street in Clarksville.  Units of the Sheriff's Office and Clarksville P.D. executed the search warrant at approximately 10:30 a.m.  Suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, guns, chemicals and a methamphetamine lab were discovered in the residence.  Lemon faces several felony charges as well as misdemeanor charges related to the traffic stop.  Charges include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.  Other enhanced penalty charges will be filed which include Manufacturing a Controlled Substance in the Presence of a Minor and Manufacturing a Controlled Substance within 1000 ft. of a church/school/daycare because of the proximity of his residence to the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. A hazardous materials clean-up crew was called to the residence to pick up and dispose of the "lab trash" and hazardous chemicals.  The residence was located between two busy intersections where children catch the school bus every day. "This has been an ongoing investigation involving this residence for some time.  We have continued to gather information on this residence and finally got the final piece of the puzzle to apply for a search warrant, which was very successful.  A big THANK YOU to the citizens of the county who call in tips and information about suspected drug activity".  Lemon appeared before Judge Bill Pearson on April 3rd where his bond was set at $100,000.00 cash/commercial with an initial court appearance for May 1.
