Message from the Sheriff

 Sheriff Jimmy Dorney Summertime is almost here! The gardens are planted, the trees have bloomed and the flowers of spring have sprung. School will be out soon so lets be extra careful with our driving. With baseball and softball starting and the children out for summer more kids will be playing in or near the streets. Please pay attention to them as you drive by them. One hurt child is one too many! Please keep safety in mind as you head out to your favorite campsite or to the lake this summer. We will step up patrols with the Arkansas State Police for drinking and driving and working with the Corps of Engineers and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission on our area waterways. Always remember basic first-aid supplies in case of injury. We continue to work hard on our drug enforcement and criminal investigations and are closing many cases each week. As expected, burglaries are on the rise. It seems to happen every year when the weather warms up. If you have a cabin or property that you do not visit regularly, now would be a great time to visit or ask a friend or neighbor to check on it. Take care of each other, have a great late spring, enjoy life in Johnson County and be safe out there! |
